AZXO is an indie pop-rock band from Austin Texas. Started as a duo project to cope with the isolation due to the pandemic in 2020, the band released their debut album in late 2020 and has been playing live shows since summer 2021 in its full band formation.

Composed of LGBTQ+ members, the band played at several queer music showcases and festivals to promote the diversity and inclusivity of the Austin music scene.

AZXO’s sound is a mix of indie, pop, rock, EDM, punk, blues, and singer/songwriter. They have been featured in KUTXCBS Austin, Forbes, Austin Asian American Resource Center, and Austin Public Library.

The group is currently working on their second album.

Zhipeng Xing moved to Austin from China in the summer of 2012 to study at the University of Texas at Austin.

A singer-songwriter since his teens, he fell in love with the local music scene immediately and started writing music and lyrics that draw inspiration from both Chinese pop/traditional music and contemporary rock, R&B, folk, and EDM.

Alex O’Masta has been playing music since he was nine years old. He was in a number of bands in Virginia and LA before moving to Austin in late 2016.

A multi-instrumentalist and a trained producer, Alex enjoys writing music in various genres and loves a good soundtrack to a movie or a game.
